Cheddar Biscuits
Makes: 10 Biscuits
Ingredients:
- 2c flour
- 3/4c shredded cheddar
- 2/3c – 1c milk
- 3 tsp. baking powder
- 1/2 tsp. salt
- 2 tbsp. shortening (I used buttered flavor)
- 4 tbsp. butter/margarine
- 1/8 tsp. garlic salt
- 1/4 tsp. dried parsley flakes
Directions:
Add your flour, salt and baking powder to a mixing bowl. Add in your 2 tbsp. shortening. Using a fork smash the shortening into the flour mix. Keep doing this until your flour looks like crumbs.
Next add in your cheese and 2/3 c milk. Stir with a large spoon until combined. If it’s to dry add the remaining milk a little at a time until you get a nice sticky dense dough. I used a LITTLE more then 1 cup.
Spray a muffin pan with non-stick spray. Add abt 1/4 c of the dough to each cup. Press them down and flatten. Bake at 450 8 – 10 minutes or until tops begin to brown lightly.
While your baking melt your butter. Add in garlic salt and parsley. Mix to dissolve the garlic and set aside.
Remove biscuits from oven. Using a pastry brush or wadded up paper towel spread some melted butter mixture on top of each biscuit. Once done allow to cool and ENJOY!
