Fully Loaded Crockpot Chili
Makes: A LOT but this crockpot chili is freezer friendly!
Ingredients:
- 1 lb. lean ground beef, turkey, or chicken
- 1 lb. bacon, cut into bite size pieces
- 1 med. onion, diced
- 1 lg yellow pepper (or green or red), diced
- 1-2 cloves garlic (I used 1 lg), minced
- 3 14oz cans diced tomatoes, drained
- 3 8oz cans tomato sauce
- 3 15oz can red kidney beans
- 2 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce
- 1 tsp. garlic salt
- 1/2 tbsp. chili powder
- 1 tsp. ground cumin
- 1 tsp. dried oregano
- salt/pepper to taste
- Shredded cheddar, (Optional)
Directions:
First you need to brown your ground meat. If you are using ground turkey or chicken you will need to add a bit of oil to the pan. While your meat is cooking chop up your onion, garlic, yellow pepper, and bacon.
Once your meat is cooked add it to the crockpot along with your bacon, garlic, onion, and yellow pepper.
In a colander pour your kidney beans and rinse them off. Add them to your crockpot along with your diced tomatoes and tomatoes sauce.
Add all your seasonings except for the salt and pepper. You will want to add that to taste after it’s done cooking. Stir everything up.
Cover and cook on low for 4 to 6 hours.
Add any salt/pepper you like. Sprinkle your chili with cheese and/or a bit of sour cream.
